Non Toxic Hair Care For Kids
When I first wrote this post, I had just taken the Dressing Your Truth®course. It’s a great program that shows you how to dress for your Power Type (as well as ideas for how to wear your hair and makeup). In doing so, I began to allow my hair to do its frizzy/wave thing for the first time in over 20 years!
As part of the Dressing Your Truth course, I watched a bonus video that gave me some tips for styling even (especially) messy hair to get curls that you might not otherwise have. know you have it. One of the tips is not to damage your hair with shampoo. You can shower with a co-wash or use another “no-poo” type cleanser. Or, just use shampoo less and less often.
They also recommended using a good conditioner (like this one) without silicones and other ingredients that may be problematic for wavy and curly hair.
I tried those tips, using this conditioner as a “co-wash” during the week and washing my hair with my regular clarifying shampoo. houses; once every week or so. All of a sudden, I had new waves and curls that I didn’t know I had! I no longer feel the need to keep straightening my hair to look good.

The condition of my hair since then is good enough that I can let it do its thing. It’s very little work, and I like the way it looks.
Water, you are beginning to realize that you can save yourself a lot of money by making your own conditioner. This is true even (or especially) if you use the best ingredients.
You may be tempted to buy a particular product because it uses an oil or other (supposedly) miraculous ingredient. Most of the time, however, only luxury versions are used. The remainder of the product may contain approved chemicals (or possibly water).
By doing it yourself, you can decide which ones you want to use and which ones to avoid. I like to do things by myself so I can control what is done. My goal is always to reduce the amount of toxins and make more natural products that I buy. Staying in control will probably always be my main reason for doing things myself.

In the end, making your own conditioner allows you to use the best ingredients, avoid toxins, and save yourself money in the process! (Also, it’s usually more sustainable, because you can choose to reuse the packaging or use more sustainable packaging.)
For those who want a more affordable option that doesn’t use any packaging, you can also try making a homemade scrub!
A basic window uses only a few simple things. The main ingredients are water, oil, an emulsifier, and a preservative. Then you can diversify those or supplement with other things like vitamins and/or essential oils.
To make a conditioner, we will make a simple emulsion. It’s like making a simple lotion. The main difference is the type of emulsifier used. In this case, we will use a cationic emulsifier, BTMS, for its special properties.
Diy Hair Mask Recipes That Are Dermatologist Approved
The main, important, element for making this conditioner is a cationic emulsifier called BTMS (aka. Behentrimonium Methosulfate). It is very good for making hair products because it is a good conditioner and makes the hair silky smooth. At the same time, there is enough light to use in the cool-in.
BTMS is an emulsifier derived from rapeseed oil. The recommended dosage of BTMS is 2-10% of the final weight of the product, depending on the desired product.
I usually use 5% in my hair conditioner. If you use less than that, you will end up with a thin product. Using it sparingly, however, may result in an unstable display that may fall apart. By using more than 5%, you will end up with a slightly smaller seal.
When I first wrote this post (in March of 2017), I did not know that BTMS was sold in different formulations with different percentages of Behentrimonium Methosulfate. The only emulsifier my supplier mentioned was BTMS. After a little research, I found out that I was using BTMS-25.
The Art Of Beauty: Haircare Tips From A Dermatologist
BTMS-25 is a combination of Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol, an emulsifier. The percentage of Behentrimonium Methosulfate in BTMS-25 is about 25-30% of the emulsifier, by weight.
BTMS-50, on the other hand, is a combination of Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol and Butylene Glycol. The percentage of Behentrimonium Methosulfate is also higher, at 50%. Some people choose to avoid BTMS-50 because they want to avoid butylene glycol.
Butylene glycol is a type of alcohol that is sometimes used in cosmetics. Although generally considered safe, some people avoid glycols altogether. They may avoid it because it is usually derived from oil or because they think it is artificial.
BTMS-50 has a higher percentage of active ingredients, but less fat that can help dry hair. From what I’ve researched, it’s also possible to get something thinner. You should be able to use it just fine, but I haven’t personally tested this formula with the BTMS-50 yet. So, I cannot confirm personally.

My best educated guess, though, is that if you use the BTMS-50, you’ll end up with a nice, even thinner finish. You can compensate for that by using a small amount of BTMS-50 and then adding a small amount of an emulsifier such as cetyl alcohol or cetearyl alcohol.
In the standard recipe, I decided to use 5g of argan oil. I used argan oil because it is a good emollient oil that can add shine and reduce frizz. Don’t feel you have to use argan oil, though.
When applying your conditioner, you can switch out the argan oil for another oil. You can also use a combination of oil and/or butter. Just make sure the final weight of oil is the same as the amount of oil I used to get a similar product.
My favorite oils for hair products are argan oil and jojoba oil. I usually use a combination of the two when doing a conditioner for my hair.

Other great oils for hair, especially dry and unmanageable hair, are coconut oil, avocado oil, or olive oil.
Castor oil is said to help with faster hair growth, so you may want to consider using it if this is a concern for you. That said, it can also dry out and feel sticky when added in large amounts. With that in mind, I suggest combining it with other oils.
