Jags end 20-game losing streak in beating Miami in London

Urban Meyer has his first NFL coaching victory. Trevor Lawrence has his first win in the NFL. And the Jacksonville Jaguars have won their first game since Week 1 of the 2020 season.

The Jaguars topped the Miami Dolphins, 23-20, on Sunday morning in London. Kicker Matthew Wright, who tied the game in the fourth quarter with a 54-yard field goal that barely tucked inside the upright, hit a no-doubt 53-yarder as time expired.

The Jaguars set up the game-winning score with a brilliant penultimate play, with Lawrence hitting Laviska Shenault for a 9-yard connection on 4th and 8 to set up the game-winning kick. Meyer called timeout with :05 on the clock, and it appeared the Jaguars would throw a Hail Mary.

Instead, the Dolphins were caught napping on the play. And had they simply not touched Shenault after his first-down catch, it possible time might have run out and the game headed to overtime.

Jacksonville moved to 1-5 while Miami fell to 1-5, losers of five straight.
